About

IAP is a woman owned business since 1998. President and Designer, Melissa Bull, has 27 years of experience in a variety of project sizes ranging from 2,000 sf to 75,000 sf. Project types include hospitality, office, medical, and banking. IAP provides a full range of interior design services including: programming, space planning, design development, value engineering, construction documentation, review/redline of engineering documents, construction administration, and furniture selection/specification/installation.

 

Melissa is involved in every aspect of the project and has developed strong relationships with her clients through the years. Some clients include Phoenix Medical Inc., Rancho Santa Fe National Bank, Rancho Santa Fe Community Center, US Bank, ING Pilgrim, Russ Lyon Realty, WorldatWork, and US Home Corporation. 

 

Education: Bachelors of Arts in Interior Design from Marymount University Arlington, Virginia

 

Community: Melissa is President and Founder of South Sudan Community Center a non-profit organization working to provide food, clean water, and community centers throughout South Sudan.

Projects

Arrivia Corporate Headquarters and Riverwalk

Satellite Office in Carlsbad CA

A 42,000 SF remodel for the headquarters located in the Scottsdale Quarter which included new finishes, furniture modifications, office reconfigurations, and the addition of a gym. A 20,000 SF remodel to the Riverwalk location in Scottsdale which included new finishes, the addition of a Training Room, and a remodel to the Break Room. A 7,800 SF remodel to the Carlsbad CA location included a new Reception Area, new finishes, the addition of a Break Room and several new collaborative spaces.

Sunbird Golf Resort

A 43,000 SF partial remodel located in Chandler, Arizona. The project includes custom carpet insets at upper and lower level corridors and ancillary rooms and new general and accent wall paint throughout. Main fireplace surrounds includes two 2’ x 6’ custom stained glass mosaic art pieces which frame the fireplace in the main public space.

 

Clubhouse Innovative Therapy a division of EBS Healthcare

A 12,000 SF tenant improvement located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The project includes a large theater/conference room with one way vision panels for parents to observe their children during therapy sessions. The space provides a variety of therapy room types and sizes including a large PT gym, an OT gym, feeding rooms, a full kitchen/cafe, a parents waiting room, admin offices at the upper loft level, a designated toilet training room, and a spacious contemporary Lobby. The project will be complete Spring of 2019.

 

WorldatWork “Play Space” and South Building

A 4,000 SF open office “play space” located in the North Building of the WorldatWork Global Headquarters located in Scottsdale, AZ. The project will include exposed wood beams at the structure with reclaimed wood, level 1 concrete flooring throughout, full glass conference rooms, a variety of modern lounge seating throughout, a 100 seat all-employee meeting space, a full bar and catering kitchen, decorative ceiling pendants throughout, and a vibrant high gloss red ceiling at the main entrance, and exposed ceiling throughout.

The South building will be planned for approximately 100 employees which will include a combination of open area lounge seating, phone booths for 1 to 4 people, conference rooms, individual restrooms, a large employee Cafe and newly renovated court yard space attached.

 

Arizona Traditions Clubhouse

A 5,000 SF remodel located in Surprise, Arizona. The remodel includes new finishes, new cabinetry at lobby, fireplace lounge area and bar, custom lighting, art and furniture. Project will be complete summer of 2018.

 

Colorado National Golf Clubhouse (Formerly Vista Ridge Golf Clubhouse)

An 11,000 SF high-end new construction clubhouse located in Erie, Colorado. This project features custom designed golf shop fixtures and cabinetry, private dining space with wood stained stile and rail cabinetry with woven leather insets, upscale lighting throughout, Persian rugs, and venetian stucco ceilings. The design work included all phases of interior architecture from space planning through construction administration along with furniture budget, plans, and specifications and art work.

ING Pilgrim Group, Inc.

A corporate headquarters relocation and expansion from 36,000 SF located in Phoenix to 70,000 SF located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The project is made up of conventional office space, a two-story lobby, and a 73 station trading floor.

 

World at Work (Formerly American Compensation Association)

A 30,000 SF remodel of a benefits and compensation firm located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The remodel includes extensive work to two existing buildings which were built in the late 80’s/early 90’s. The design work involved taking a dark, out-dated office environment and creating a light, vibrant, functional space complete with a wood paneled lobby wall with polished concrete floors, new restrooms with concrete trough sinks and glass tile, new huddle rooms with sliding doors and barn door hardware, light quartered maple veneer doors and millwork through out.

 

Rancho Santa Fe Community Center

The 8,600 SF community center located in Rancho Santa Fe, California provides countless programs and activities for residents of all ages. The interior design meets the functional needs of the programs and activities, as well as integrating the strong Spanish design elements found in the architecture of adjacent buildings. The building includes a large multipurpose room with a collapsible stage, main offices, conference rooms, activity rooms, and a kitchen. 

 

Blue Design

Corporate office located in Portland, Maine. Furniture and cabinetry are custom designed to meet the exact ergonomic requirements of a graphics design studio and its extensive equipment and storage needs.

 

Mail Boxes Etc.

A retail store located in Tempe, Arizona. Approximately 2,000 SF of display, storage, mail boxes, and equipment. Design and layout are based on corporate standards.

 

Phoenix Medical, Inc.

A corporate office located in Phoenix, Arizona. Approximately 2,000 SF of reception, offices, copy/work room, and marketing room.

Rancho Santa Fe National Bank

The 4,000 SF branch office is located in a new Class “A” building complex in Carlsbad, California. The office combines contemporary and traditional design elements such as a large, curved, asymmetrical floor and ceiling configuration along with painted wood base, crown moulding, and door and window frames. A variety of materials are used throughout the office including polished granite slabs, maple wood veneer, and brushed stainless steel hardware.

Mission Oaks National Bank

Programming and space planning for a 4,300 SF for the first branch of this new bank located in Temecula, California.

 

Pilgrim America Group*

A mutual fund corporate headquarters located in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. The project comprises 36,000 SF of private offices, systems furniture stations, main board room, conference rooms, trading room, and main lobby/reception area. The project involved creating a corporate identity, as well as, interior architecture, furniture specifications, furniture inventory, and systems furniture refurbishment. The project won an ASID Design Excellence Award in November of 1995.

Southern California Bank*

An existing branch bank located in Anaheim, California. The facility includes the retail bank and offices on the main floor with offices on the mezzanine and second floors. Approximately 9,000 SF of the total 9,955 SF were demolished and redesigned to include an all-new teller stations, new accounts, and loan platform.

 

First Community Bank*

The existing 6,400 SF building located in Twentynine Palms, California houses the bank retail and operations, a separate subtenant space, and a public conference facility. The interior was completely demolished except for the vault and drive-through window equipment. The design and build-out features traditional white painted wood mouldings, trim, columns and pilasters in contrast to contemporary furniture and curved walls. 

 

Santa Monica Bank*

The bank is located in the financial district of Beverly Hills, California, occupying 10,000 SF on two floors. The public space is located on the ground floor and features various ceiling heights between 12 and 16 feet. Western red, rough-sawn cedar wood beams hang from the exposed ceiling in front of the teller stations. The design includes stained concrete flooring, large butt-jointed glass walls, and a long, curved, sloping wall bisecting the lobby and teller stations.

 

Shea Medical Plaza*

A new 32,000 SF medical office building located in Scottsdale, Arizona. Interior design services included: establishing base building standards/work letter items for tenants, preparing area calculations based on BOMA methods, designing and specifying public area finishes and architecture, and space planning for medical tenants.

 

First Community Bank*

A new 3,700 SF building and interior build-out located in Cathedral City, California. The project design is a combination of traditional and contemporary architecture with painted traditional mouldings, trim, and columns, stained wood french doors, and raised panel teller stations and furniture.

Castle Creek Capital* 

The interior build-out of approximately 6,000 SF of Class A corporate office space located in Rancho Santa Fe, California. Standard offices include upgrades such as stained cherry wood blinds, wood base, doors and frames. Architectural finishes are neutral, clean, and sophisticated.

 

First Community Bank*

A new 4,200 SF building and interior build-out located in the financial district of Indian Wells, California. The design features french windows and doors, a large curved feature wall for art work, and custom stained wood furniture with mouldings and raised panels.

 

Russ Lyon Realty*

Interior design and furniture specifications provided for the following: a new 8,500 SF office building located in North Scottsdale, Arizona, expansion of existing office in Phoenix, Arizona, and renovation to the existing office in Scottsdale, Arizona.

 

Rancho Santa Fe National Bank* 

Interior remodel to the existing 7,000 SF two story building located in Rancho Santa Fe, California. Bank operations on the first floor remained in operation during the construction of new offices, a conference room, and reconfiguration/refinishing of new accounts and teller stations. New lighting, finishes, and custom designed furniture were installed throughout the first floor. The  second floor interior was completely demolished to allow for executive and standard offices, systems furniture work stations, lunch room, and a copy/work room.

 

U.S. Home Corporation Golf and Community Clubhouse*

Two clubhouses were planned and designed simultaneously for the following locations: Tucson, Arizona and Indio, California. Each clubhouse at approximately 30,000 SF included the following room or areas: lobby, library, mens and womens card rooms, craft and kiln room, wood shop, fitness center with indoor and outdoor pools, locker rooms, grille and bar with fireplace, golf and pro shop, kitchen, outdoor dining and a large 300 seat multi-purpose room. The design features pietra stone lobby flooring and columns with tumbled marble borders, custom lighting, and custom carpeting throughout.

 

U.S. Home Corporation Community Clubhouse*

A 10,000 SF community clubhouse located in Northwest Roseville, California. Program requirements and interior design services are similar to those described above.

Desert Ridge Golf Clubhouse*

The 3,200 SF temporary clubhouse located in Scottsdale, Arizona includes custom designed golf shop fixtures with southwestern style architectural woodwork and finishes. 

Desert Mountain Corporate Headquarters*

The 32,000 SF corporate office building located in North Scottsdale, Arizona houses six departments including executive and standard offices, open work stations, kitchen and lunch room, main board room, and many conference, coffee, and copy/file/work rooms. The interior is southwest style architecture with a fireplace in the main lobby, rough-sawn wood beams and corbels at the ceiling, and custom pendant light fixtures. Doors, trim, and windows are of stained wood.

 

Rancho Vistoso Golf Clubhouse*

The temporary golf clubhouse is approximately 3,000 SF located in Tucson, Arizona. The golf shop has a custom-designed desk and fixtures for clothing, clubs, shoes, and accessories. Remaining space includes a kitchen, offices, storage, restrooms, and outdoor covered dining.
